The University of Djibouti and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)
jointly hosted the JICA Chair Lecture series in Djibouti on December 3 and 4, 2024.Professor Shinoda Hideaki from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies was the main speaker. The JICA Chair lectures are part of JICA’s continuing support for training and education of tomorrow’s leaders. The participants were from the Institute of Diplomatic Studies and the Primary and Secondary Teacher Training School. Djibouti, as the seat of the eight-member IGAD (Inter Governmental Authority on Development) and as a model of stability and international cooperation, plays a valuable role in promoting education and development in the region. Professor Shinoda has extensive experience in Japan’s international peace-building operations.
